Toyota Hilux Shocks
Shock absorbers and struts are used in conjunction with Hilux suspension systems to absorb unwanted vibrations which occur while driving. To absorb this unwanted vibration, shock absorbers are connected between the body (sprung mass) and the suspension system (unsprung mass) of the vehicle. Shock absorbers are also used to restrain excessive spring movement and prevent prolonged oscillations or "bouncing".
Shock absorbers dampen vibrations in a telescopic movement that consists of a piston in an oil-filled cylinder. The resistance of the piston's movement through the oil creates the absorbing effect.
