Toyota Hilux Brakes
Toyota Hilux brakes have not changed much since the first production year in 1968. Back then the Hilux brakes were front and rear drums. Today, they are front disc and rear drums. Disc brakes offer incredible stopping power with minimal effort on even the heaviest of vehicles while drum brakes offer a cheaper alternative to disc brakes despite the fact they are known to not be as efficient as discs. Although many of today's modern cars and trucks have front and rear disc brakes, this isn't a necessity for the Toyota Hilux. The Toyota Hilux has a light rear end that does not demand the workload that a disc brake setup is capable of producing (stopping) because the bulk of the truck's weight rests in the front half of the vehicle.
