Toyota Hilux Air Conditioning
The Hilux air conditioning system is comprised of a compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator. These units work together in a peculiar way to process a refrigerant called freon in a repeating cycle from liquid to gas in order to cool the inside of your Toyota Hilux. Have you ever used a can of compressed air to blow dust from your computer keyboard? You may have noticed that the can quickly gets cold as the air exits it. This is caused by the rapid expansion of the compressed gas, and the Hilux air conditioning system works in much the same way. Refrigerant is compressed in the compressor which turns it into a hot gas. This hot gas then goes to the condenser where it is cooled to a liquid state and travels on to the expansion valve. As the freon passes through the expansion valve it returns to a low-pressure gas and rapidly cools in the evaporator. A fan sits on one side of the evaporator. It blows outside air over the evaporator to cool the air that blows out the Hilux air vents.
